The Republic of Loose to hit Kytelers in December

Extra extra, read all about it, the Republic of Loose are playing in Kytelers on December 4.

Republic of Loose, which formed in Dublin in 2004, is fast becoming Ireland’s latest number one music export.

After spending a few years going form strength to strength, the band spent most of 2007 touring Europe and the US with sold out shows in France, Italy, Holland, New-York, Los Angeles and the UK. A US tour with Snow Patrol preceded a series of headline gig's in the US.

The band have always had a touch of class about them and still seem as grounded as ever even after a number of platinum hits. In 2008 Mick Pyro was invited by Bono to join Ireland’s leading musicians on a tribute to legendary Irish folk singer Ronnie Drew. The song brought together the finest talent Ireland has to offer on a moving tribute to the Dubliners singer.

This year, the Loose travelled back to the US for three sold out tours. They returned to Ireland to play at Oxegen 2009 and to open up for U2 at Croke Park on their 360 tour.

They have been filling Irish ears with their contemporary and earthy but original music since their inception, gigging in pubs all over Ireland. The band has played in Kilkenny on numerous occasions and I’m sure Kilkenny fans will make them feel very welcome once again this time. This is a gig not to be missed. Tickets available from Kytelers bar.
