Ah, the dreaded winter is finally here, the cold has slowly but surely crept up on all of us, and the stuffy heating of the home and office offers another extreme. Going from one extreme to the other plays havoc on our health and skin. Hot air conditioning and freezing cold weather has the onion effect on our face.
This is where the skin is relaxing and contracting under the different heating extremes and unfortunately this leads to drying and premature ageing of the skin. The key here is balance, there is a simple yet effective solution to keeping your skin calm under the pressure. In your office make sure you have a facial water spray on hand or a good moisturiser to apply over the course of your day. This will prevent your skin overheating and drying out. When you’re out in the cold make sure you wear a scarf and during the freezing temperatures cover your face as much as possible with the scarf. Also don’t be afraid to pile on moisturiser if you’re planning to be out in the elements for a long period of time. Remember just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you don’t need sunblock a factor 15 during the winter months is recommended, as harmful rays can get through even the dullest clouds and age your skin.
