Ireland, in these times, has become very international with so many different nationalities living here and setting up house and business.
As a result, Irish people have developed many different culinary tastes from Chinese food to Italian.
The new Chan Rak, Thai and Indian restaurant in Thomastown, is a must for those who like to experiment with different food and tastes. The restaurant offers authentic recipes from their in-house Thai and Indian chefs that are sure to make your mouth water.
However, the restaurant also caters for the non-adventurous types who are more comfortable with Irish cuisine.
Their lunch menu offers customers a very elaborate selection of Thai and Indian food along with the best quality Irish food.
So if your partner prefers dishes from closer to home, a beautiful Irish stew or traditional fish and chips are just some of the delicious Irish options also available. One can also choose from a selection of sandwiches.
Because Chan Rak caters for everyone, it is the perfect place for a family lunch. The menu is from 12pm-14:30pm, Monday to Saturday and from 12pm to 4pm on a Sunday.
In the evening, the restaurant becomes oriental with a full a la Carte menu offering customers a slice of Asia. The a la carte menu starts at five and last orders must be taken before half past ten. There is also an early bird menu on Mondays and Thursdays from 5pm and 7pm.
Officially, the restaurant opened it’s doors last Monday and it has gone down a treat for diners who have visited it so far.
The restaurant is in an enchanting old stone building which has been recently refurnished.
The colours within the restaurant and the soft music in the background make an evening meal very memorable for any diner.
The garden is also a fantastic feature of the restaurant. Although some changes are still being made, the old-style courtyard and decking along with a curving wall, make it a perfect venue for family events such as christenings, communions or birthdays.
The restaurant will also be offering a set menu for Christmas parties with an offer on their prices over the coming months.
