Kilkenny under 21 stars Richie Hogan and John Mulhall have been nominated for the Bord Gais Energy ‘Breaking Through Player of the Year’ award which recognises the most outstanding overall player in the 2009 hurling championship.
Richie Hogan from Danesfort club is one of the most talented players of his age for Kilkenny and started in this year’s senior All-Ireland final against Tipperary where he definitely made a name for himself. John Mulhall from Muckalee club also deserves this recognition for his brilliant performances in the Leinster and All-Ireland finals. John is a dedicated and hard working player.
Other players nominated are Darach Honan, Joe Conlon and Colin Ryan for Clare and Galway’s Joe Canning. The winning hurler shall receive a prize of €1,000.
