Cody book launched early for Avonmore consumers

Following Kilkenny’s magnificent display in Croke Park this year, Brian Cody’ s new book Cody must be the most eagerly anticipated sporting book of the year and it is to be made available early to ploughers next week.

Kilkenny hurling manager Brian Cody’s ‘Autobiography’ Cody will be on sale exclusively to Avonmore consumers, ahead of its official launch date (September 28 ), at this year’s National Ploughing Championships.

Avonmore will present the book at the annual farming event, which takes place next week (September 22-24 ), in Athy, Co. Kildare.

The 150,000 crowd expected at this year’s Championships can purchase an exclusive copy of Cody’s autobiography when they visit the ‘Avonmore Milk Bar’ marquee at the event. And if that wasn’t enough of an exclusive from the Kilkenny sponsors, the man himself Brian Cody will be there to sign copies for fans!

Avonmore has enjoyed an incredible association with Brian Cody and the Kilkenny hurling team over the past ten years, and has been delighted to share in ‘the Cats’ achievement. Since his appointment in 1998, Brian Cody has won seven All Ireland finals and achieved an historic ‘4 in a row’; beating Tipperary in this year’s All Ireland Final, to become the most successful hurling manager of all time.

Cody is set to become the No1 sports book this autumn.

“This is a hurling book,” explains Brian Cody, “but, I believe it is also be a book for sports people and business people, and people in every walk of life.”

The success of the Avonmore – Kilkenny sponsorship is unprecedented in Irish sport, and both the Kilkenny manger and the sponsors are proud to be carrying that partnership into the launch of the book.

“Avonmore has been key part of the Kilkenny story over the past 10 years,” said Cody, “so I’m delighted to be launching my book with Avonmore at this year’s Ploughing Championships.”

Colin Gordon, CEO of Glanbia Consumer Foods expressed his admiration for the Kilkenny manager by saying, “Brian Cody has been the lynchpin of the accomplishments of the Kilkenny hurling team over the past decade and is a true ambassador for Irish sport”, he continued. “Brian’s autobiography is a testament to this success and we are proud to sponsor to be involved with launching his book at this years Ploughing Championships”.

The Avonmore milk bar is yet again set to be one of the key attractions at the National Ploughing Championships this year. Aside from Brian Cody, the Kilkenny hurling team will also be attending the tent with the newly retained Liam McCarthy Cup, as they continue the celebration of ‘4 in a row’.
