Aylward invites Cox for Lisbon lecture

Pat Cox, former president of the European Parliament, is to address a special public meeting in Kilkenny to discuss the implications of the Lisbon Treaty for Ireland.

Organised by Fianna Fáil deputy Bobby Aylward as part of his campaign to promote increased public awareness and understanding of the issues in the forthcoming referendum, the event will take place at The Rising Sun, Mullinavat, Co Kilkenny, on Saturday, 19 September next, beginning at 8.30pm.

The meeting will also be addressed by Liam Aylward MEP, and both he and Pat Cox will entertain questions from the floor.

Pat Cox is currently campaign director of the Ireland for Europe group. As an Independent member of the European Parliament for 15 years and as a former president, Pat Cox has a unique working knowledge and insight into the EU, its institutions, and its politics.

He is a committed European and is a passionate crusader in favour of the Lisbon Treaty and its positive impact for this country and its people.

With a practical understanding of the issues before the electorate in this referendum, Pat is well-placed to make an informed and compelling contribution to this critically important debate.

The meeting is open to everyone at the Rising Sun on Saturday night at 8.30pm.
