Cody book to be in stores by end of the month

Fans and supporters of Kilkenny coach, Brian Cody are waiting with bated breath for the release of his new autobiography, Cody, on September 28 next.

Brian Cody is the most successful manager in modern times in the GAA having claimed seven All-Ireland Championship titles with Kilkenny over the last 11 years, including last Sunday’s historic and epic ‘four in-a-row’ win in a thrilling late finish against a powerful Tipperary challenge.

In addition to recapturing the highs and lows of his playing career and managerial career, Cody also includes a personal diary of Kilkenny’s momentous 2009 All-Ireland success.

Cody will reveal his beliefs and philosophies, which have been central to the creation of the most successful GAA team since the turn of the millennium, and he will share the experiences as a player and a manager which have helped define him as Kilkenny team boss.

Cody is set to become the No 1 sports book this autumn. It will surprise and inspire GAA fans throughout the country, and will also unveil a winning formula which is necessary for success in life, as well as sport.

“This is a hurling book,” explains Brian Cody, “but, I believe it is also a book for sports people and business people, and people in every walk of life. I know that the difference between winning and losing can be minute, and I hope that in my book people can see what exactly has made the difference for the Kilkenny hurling team.

“This book is about pride, it is about self-belief, and it is about ambition. More than anything else, however, it is also about humility and the absolutely vital importance of understanding that every single day of your life, whether you are a sports person or not, is a day to be discovered and challenged.

“This book, I suppose, is really the story of a man who has had the privilege of leading an extremely talented group of people – on the field and off the field – in search of a unique achievement. Leading those great people, helping them, and being helped by them, that’s my story in Cody.”

Cody will be available in bookshops nationwide from September 28, but autographed copies of Cody are available through the official website for Brian Cody’s autobiography (www.briancody.net ) which has been launched this week.
