The beauty of an eyelash curler

Time 2 Beautify

I went on holidays a few weeks ago and during my break I met some lovely people. One of the girls I became friendly with was a qualified beauty therapist and of course, as you do, I availed of her make-up tips and tricks. This girl was shocked I never used an eyelash curler. Up until two weeks ago I never thought much of it. I don’t have long lashes and am not blessed with wide eyes but after using the curler there was a major difference.

So forget expensive lash extensions for now and instead pop into your local pharmacy and invest in a good lash curler. The metal curler works better than plastic. For beginners like myself here’s how to use a lash curler.

First, an eyelash curler will work best on clean eyelashes, so no mascara.

Next, use your blowdryer on low heat, blow air on the curler for no more than five seconds. Touch the metal. If it's hot, let it cool for a few seconds. You don't want to burn your eyelid.

When it’s tepid open the curler, clamp lashes near the roots. Hold for about 30 seconds. Never curl lashes after you apply mascara — as the mascara dries, lashes can stick to the curler and be torn from the roots.
