Women for Europe is a growing network of women from all strata of society who are coming together to campaign for a Yes Vote in the Lisbon Treaty Referendum on 2nd October next.
Chair Olive Braiden will be hosting an event in the Newpark Hotel, Castlecomer Road, Kilkenny on Saturday September 5, at 12 noon.
The event will be attended by women from throughout the Kilkenny and Carlow region and guest speaker will be Catherine Day, an Irishwoman who is the Secretary General of the European Commission.
Women for Europe believe that women’s voices were absent from the Lisbon Treaty debate last time and it is determined to ensure that the issues of concern and interest to women are addressed in the current debate. Women for Europe believe that Ireland’s membership of the EU has enhanced and improved the lives of Irish women. They also believe that the Lisbon Treaty further enhances and protects women’s rights.
People are welcome to attend this event at which 10 women will outline the reasons why they are voting Yes in the forthcoming referendum.
There will be an opportunity to meet with Olive Braiden and Catherine Day
