Young life lost on Kilkenny road

The family and friends of a 21 year old girl are in mourning this week following her death in a fatal road traffic accident in the county on Monday afternoon.

Natasha Keating who had just recently celebrated her 21st birthday, was killed when the car she was driving lost control and hit a wall near a gate at Barronsland, Bennettsbridge, Co. Kilkenny. Natasha was alone in the car when the accident occurred.

It’s understood that concerns had been raised about the dangers to motorists on this stretch of road earlier in the week prior to this fatal collision.

Natasha was seriously injured in the crash and was rushed to St Luke’s Hospital by ambulance where she later died.

She had lived in Kilkenny city but had connections with Thomastown and Inistioge.

Forensic collision investigators attended the scene and a full examination of the circumstances surrounding the crash was carried out.

Gardai in Thomastown are appealing to anyone with information, or who may have witnessed this incident, to contact them on 056-7754150, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111. The Funeral service took place at Mount Jerome Crematorium on Thursday.
