The official launch of ‘King of the Castle’ (fundraising extravaganza ) will take place at 7:30pm at Kilkenny Castle on Friday September 4.
The launch will kick off at Kilkenny Castle's Courtyard at which all three candidates will be introduced to the public. The representatives belong to the three city GAA clubs.
The James Stephens GAA Club will be represented by Michael Costello who has chosen the charity St Patrick's Parish Centre.
Michael Devane of the Dicksboro GAA Club has picked the charity Ger Devane Memorial Trust at St Luke's Hospital Kilkenny.
Finally the O'Loughlin Gaels GAA Club will be represented by Pat Shortis who has chosen the charities GROW, Kilkenny Alzheimer’s Association and Dyslexia Association, Kilkenny. The three candidates will be guests on RTE's Up for the Match on Saturday 5 September – the eve of the All Ireland Hurling Final.
