Experimental’ Kilkenny rose does us proud

It was widely agreed that the Kilkenny rose Stephanie O’ Dwyer was a fine representative for Kilkenny at this year’s Rose of Tralee festival.

Stephanie appeared on Wednesday night in the Dome in Tralee and carried out a live science experiment with Ray D’Arcy with hilarious consequences. She had been hotly tipped by bookies and was in both second and third position in the lead up to the festival last week.

She had huge audience support and banners held up by her supporters got a special mention. Stephanie works as a secondary school teacher in Wexford and she has a degree in Education in Biological Sciences with Physics from the University of Limerick.

She hopes to study school guidance and counselling in the future. The 27-year-old is a keen horserider and has her own horse, Murphy, with whom she competes in showjumping and eventing.
