Enjoy classical music at Castalia Hall for free

On Thursday August 20, the participants of the 2009 ConCorda Chamber Music Course, along with the Kamus Quartet will perform in the beautiful surroundings of Castalia Hall at the Ballytobin Community Hall in Callan, County Kilkenny.

They will perform the music that they have studied over the previous week on the course with tutors of national and international standing.

Each year many of the best young string players from around Ireland gather in Kilkenny to take part in the ConCorda course which is directed by Joachim Roewer of the Irish Chamber Orchestra with Adrian Petcu and Hugh Maguire as artistic directors, and the quartet-in-residence, this year the Kamus Quartet.

This is a great opportunity to hear classics and new works from the chamber music repertoire, performed by young players of high quality. Doors open at 7pm and admission is free
