Enthusiastic youngsters flocked to Kilkenny School of Yoga for their summer camp to enjoy an imaginative range of activities.
Kilkenny School of Yoga opened its doors to 12 youngsters aged between five and 11, who stretched and sketched to their hearts’ content last week.
The event was hosted at the school’s new venue in Colliers Lane and was a great success despite the grey skies and depressed economic situation in the city.
Choosing a suitable summer camp for children is an increasingly difficult process for parents, with new venues popping up every year offering activities from cookery to crafts and everything in between. However the yoga school just off High Street has perfected the art of running interesting and varied weeks for children, with this year being their fourth successful camp.
The children took part in activities including yoga and stretch classes, making papier maché lights, collage pictures, and plenty more.
The camp was organised by Essie Millie, the school’s proprietor, who said: “It was lovely to see so many children back with us again, and a lot of new faces too, we had a wonderful, creative and fun week.”
She explained that the key to keeping the children engaged was the combination of physical and mental activities. Giving the children a good workout in the morning helps them to concentrate and focus on the craft projects.
Kilkenny School of Yoga has a full schedule of classes running throughout August. For further information contact Essie on (056 ) 7756570
