Kilkenny 400 commemorated by British Ambassador

David Reddaway, the British Ambassador to Ireland, will play a private visit to Rothe House & Garden on Sunday August 16, at 11am.

He has been invited to plant a yew tree to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the granting of the Civic Charter to Kilkenny city.

Mr Reddaway paid a private visit to Rothe House with his wife, Roshan, in May of this year and was very impressed with the work which had been done in completing the reconstruction of the Rothe family garden.

He asked to return to plant a tree, and is doing so before he leaves his position as current British Ambassador at the end of this month. He will also be accompanied by his son Milo.
