The Bluecats will swing at the Left Bank

There is nothing nicer than jazz on a Sunday afternoon although it is sometimes hard to come by in more recent times, however, if it is music you are after this Sunday afternoon, look no further than the Left Bank.

There will be jazz, swing and jumpin jivin’ on offer for the afternoon and what better way to spend a Sunday than lounging in a bar listening to your favourite tunes - or even better dancing to them!

The Swingin' Bluecats are a six piece jump, jive and swing band covering the classic tunes from the 40s and 50s made famous by such legends as Louis Jordan, Louis Prima, Cab Calloway, Jackie Wilson, Big Joe Turner, Bill Haley, Brian Setzer Orchestra.

Suited and booted in 1940s retro style royal blue suits, the Swingin’ Bluecats have brought the house down at many festivals and shows since their formation as a six piece in 2008.

A year on and many shows later the band continues to go from strength to strength. Each number in the set has been professionally arranged. The band is firmly focused on delivering the finest in jump, jive and swing. To date the band has played many prestigious events and venues north and south of Ireland and the UK including The Guinness Jazz Festival, City Of Derry Jazz & Big Band Festival, Warrenpoint Blues On The Bay Festival, The Carlsberg Rhythm & Roots Festival, The Rockfall Festival, The Sugar Club, The Crane Lane Theatre, The Button Factory, The Can Can Casino.

The Swingin' Bluecats make a rare return to Kilkenny this Bank Holiday Sunday at the Left Bank between 1-3pm.
