Kilkenny teams bid to retain their Leinster titles

Kilkenny hurling fans will make their way to Croke Park this Sunday, July 5, where both the Kilkenny senior and minor hurling teams bid to retain their Leinster titles.

Dublin are the opponents in the senior Leinster final as the Anthony Daly managed metropolitans make their first appearance in a senior final since 1991. A great deal of work has gone into the promotion of hurling in Dublin in recent years and the league encounter between these two sides was keenly contested so an exciting final is expected. The Kilkenny minors had a convincing semi-final win over surprise packet Westmeath by 2-16 to 0-6 to book their final place against Wexford. The Slaneysiders were impressive winners against Laois in their semi-final but no doubt Richie Mulrooney’s side will be well prepared for this challenge.

There will be plenty of clubs running buses and also bringing juvenile players to the game so it is hoped a large Kilkenny crowd will be present to support the teams.
