A special place for items of sentimental value

The Museum of Broken Relationships is coming to Ireland for the first time and coming straight to the heart of Kilkenny as part of this world tour.

Now there is an opportunity for Kilkenny people to become a part of this museum dedicated to broken hearts and lost loves.

Everyone has experienced the end of a loving relationship, whether with a lover, friend, or family member. Most have hidden away the objects that remind us of these painful heartbreaks. However many people will have wished that there was a meaningful way of letting go of these items of sentimental value.

This museum is a great way of preserving beautiful, enriching, even painful, moments from your past. The museum is an artistic project in which everyone can participate. It is serving to honour people’s emotional heritage, offering the opportunity to preserve those memories collectively.

By contributing mementoes people of Kilkenny will become part of the exhibition when it comes to the Marble City.

Arts officer Mary Butler said that she is very excited to be bringing this unique show to Kilkenny. She is eager for people to respond to this exclusive opportunity and to donate items to the museum. This in turn will further enrich the show and it also offers people the opportunity to anonymously tell their stories of lost love and heartbreak to the Irish audience and beyond as the exhibition continues to tour the world
