Wood carving, turning or sculpting enthusiasts or indeed craft and art work-lovers in general should not miss an exciting exhibition that is about to open in MacDonagh Junction this weekend.
The exhibition features work from more than 20 local people using the theme of ‘The Seasons’.
The works have all been produced by trainees on a course being run by VTOS in conjunction with the VEC.
The course is run by Peter O’Carroll from Ballyfoyle, a wood carver and sculptor. However, it is not targeted solely on people with experience of working with wood.
Mr O’Carroll points out that this year’s class is a mixed group. “The people on the VTOS woodcarving course come from all walks of life, with both men and women attending over the age of 21.
The quality of the art on offer at this exhibition is outstanding, particularly for people who haven’t done this sort of work before,” added Mr O’Carroll.
The exhibition opens this Friday, June 12 at 11.00am and runs until Tuesday, June 16.
