Irish St Leger opens traps to local greyhounds

The final of the 2009 Kerry Agribusiness Irish St Leger will take place this Saturday, June 13 in the Limerick Greyhound Stadium. The €74,000 classic began just three weeks ago with 96 greyhounds, and six top-class greyhounds have emerged through the rounds to contest the final.

Kilkenny has managed to maintain a strong representation in the final, with half of the finalists having a connection to the county. Bar Blackstone is owned and trained by Sean Dunphy from Knocktopher. Michael Delahunty from Kilmacow trains Moveit Jamie, while Marked Urgent is trained by Paul Hennessy from Gowran.

The six finalists (in trap order ) are:

Trap 1 Moveit Jamie

Trap 2 Bar Blackstone

Trap 3 Marked Urgent

Trap 4 Chicken Supper

Trap 5 Shaneboy Lee

Trap 6 Timor Blue
