Kilkenny crowned league champs after nail-biting finish

In a feast of hurling that saw National League holders Tipperary and

All-Ireland Championship holders Kilkenny tied 3-14 to 2-17 after a thrilling nail biting 70 minutes, Kilkenny collected their 14th National League title after two periods of edge-of-your-seat extra time.

At the final whistle supporters from both sides congregated on the Semple Stadium

pitch to applaud the teams and to relive the moments as the new GAA president Christy Cooney presented Henry Shefflin with the Allianz League Trophy. While it was a great day for the Cats Brian Hogan received a broken collar bone in the first half of the match and will be ruled out of upcoming games for the next few weeks.
