Councillor Catherine Connery has revealed that the Freshford sewerage scheme is ready to go to contract stage.
The Fine Gael councillor has called on Kilkenny County Council to fast track the preparation of the contract documents.
“Minister John Gormley told Deputy Phil Hogan in the Dail last week that he approved a preliminary report on the scheme last November and that it is now a matter for Kilkenny County Council to progress the preparation of the contract documents,” she said.
“When the contracts are ready, it will be then a matter for the minister to allocate the necessary funding,” she concluded.
