The boundless world of accessories

It’s hard to say what is forbidden in the world of accessories today. Trends come and go; some make a come-back after many years, others appear for a short while and never return. There is a great sense of freedom when it comes to accessorising these days, so as long as you know how to put certain pieces together and take what’s best from different fashions, you’re always on top in the fashion world! Nothing is forbidden; if you want to get creative, find a way to figure out a way to make what you like work to your advantage.

Floral patterns are a great way of brightening things up on a rainy day, so use them all you want, but don’t get too carried away with them. A floral skirt and a different floral jacket might look all right in a wardrobe, but definitely not on your body; well, not at the same time, anyway! You should also be aware of your body shape when going for florals; if your frame is quite big, focus on medium prints, especially if the pattern appears all over your outfit, like a dress. If you do like your florals big, look for a top that will have them scattered near the neck, bodice or waistline.

Bows are certainly a good way to spruce up your accessorising adventure. Some of us might be discouraged from wearing them, but the chances are that once you try them, there’ll be no stopping you! Avoid big-bow tops if you have a large bust; however there are ways to incorporate them gently into your look. When used in moderation, bows can very effectively smarten up your appearance. Bows can be found nearly everywhere now, like on a pair of shoes, on tops, handbags, belts, hair bands, skirts and coats. Every woman can pull them off when they’re used to simply add to your outfit. Bows are very feminine and, depending on how they are worn, they can look either girlie or sophisticated.

Oversized bags have been in fashion for quite a while, but as we can clearly see, they are far from running their course; fortunately! It goes without saying, you would want to part company with them for a formal evening event, however a daytime shopping, a visit to the movies, holiday, and, honestly, any other occasion I can think of, you can pull them off, big time! As with any other purses and handbags, it’s good to have them matching your shoes or boots, but if you can’t find them in the same colour, at least make sure the colour of the bag agrees with the one on your shoes. Go hit the town now!
