Last Wednesday night saw the exciting revival of one of Kilkenny’s best loved, long standing music nights.
The Music Club in the back room at Ryan’s Bar, Friary Street, has been running on Wednesday nights for the last 9 years, but it has been sorely missed for the last two years or so.
“It’s just great to be back in Ryan’s back room,” said Brian Butler, a local music enthusiast who was there to enjoy the show last week.
“We had some really top quality talents from all over, and we were delighted with the turnout. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the atmosphere was very warm and relaxed.”
The Music Club will be back in Ryan’s back room next Wednesday night the 25th and every second Wednesday from then. The organisers are looking forward to performances from all walks of life and would like to welcome performers from all forms of art. “Anything goes with us! We are calling it The Music Club for traditions sake, but the night’s possibilities stretch far beyond that of just music - we welcome everyone. From drama groups, poets, storytellers to dancers and even comics!” said Colm Gray, an organiser of the event.
