Gardaí are on the case after a bus blaze on the Tuam road in Galway on Saturday morning.
Shortly before 11am the bus, which was returning to its garage, erupted in flames. The driver attempted to douse the fire, but was forced to contact the Fire Services.
Two units of Galway Fire Services rushed to the scene and quelled the flames.
No one other than the driver - who escaped without injury - was on the bus at the time.
The bus caused a major traffic disruption and was being removed for a technical examination to establish the cause of the fire.
