Integration funding for the city

Funding of €40,000 for the Galway City Council which will go towards the promotion of integration in the city has been announced.

The funding, which was announced last week by the Minister of State for Integration, Conor Lenihan, will be used by the council to help promote the integration of legally-resident immigrants in Galway.

Deputy Frank Fahey said, “It is so important that we continue to provide services for people coming into the local communities and I would like to commend Minister Lenihan for his continuing efforts in this regard and for working with me to secure this funding for Galway.

“All credit must go to the local community organisations that work so tirelessly to promote the importance of integration.”
