Artist collective Mart is calling on Galway artists, working in all media and styles, to contribute and take part in The Free Art Project.
The Free Art Project is designed to bring art back to the community at a reasonable price - free! The project also aims to highlight the cost of art today and squash the stereotype that art is just for artists.
Mart will be handing out free art to the passing public on Grafton Street in Dublin and Shop Street in Galway in Saturday December 20 and Sunday 21. The collective will also place various other pieces including installations and performances around the cities.
All of this art shall be free for the public to leave in situ or take home.
Mart is hoping that the project will positively promote the works of the participating artists and it is calling on those who are members of art groups, exhibiting solo artists, and those who have pieces stored away itching to see the light of day, to take part.
