Galway gardaí are hunting a gang of youths who savagely beat another youth in full view of shocked diners at a branch of McDonald's on Saturday.
The restaurant at Headford Road was busy at lunchtime on Saturday when the attack took place.
In the incident, a young man was pursued into the toilets at the restaurant by three men who proceeded to assault him in view of diners.
The man received serious injuries and was taken to Galway's University College Hospital after gardai arrived at the scene. He was later discharged.
Yesterday gardaí appealed to anyone who witnessed the attack or who may have any information to contact them at Mill St station at 091 538000.
