Accountancy firm shuts doors in Galway

The Galway branch of Ernst and Young is to shut its doors with the loss of 25 jobs for the city.

The branch is to close its doors at the end of June next year with workers being given the opportunity to relocate to the firm’s other offices in Cork, Belfast, Limerick, Dublin and Waterford.

A company spokesperson told Galway First that a streamlining of business in Europe and Asia was what led to the closure of the Galway office.

The company employs 1,200 in Ireland in total.
