The National Breat Cancer Institute at NUI Galway made a bit of a tit of itself this week after, um, backing out of a deal with a girl famous for, um, ample gifts.
Over the weekend the research institute decided they’d ‘nip’ their charity sponsorship deal with page 3 girl Claire Tully in the bud.
The 24-year-old Ms Tully has seen a lot of rejection recently - probably more than ever before in her life, as the NUIG institute joined The Marie Keating Foundation and Breast Cancer Ireland in turning down a charity deal.
As we can see from her pictures, Ms Tully is good at exposure, and here she was offering it to three well-known charities, for free. But no.
Speaking to The Evening Herald over the weekend Ms Tully said she got a call from the NUIG institute saying they had "negative feedback", and didn't want Claire to raise money for them. What? “Negative feedback?” From whom exactly? We’d love to know. But what a stand to take? We’re sure these institutes and charities would be happy to take money from a Government that’s mismanaging the economy, running the health service oh-so wonderfully and has, over these past years, left us with all this marvellous infrastructure...
And what’s Ms Tully’s crime? To pose in The Sun with no top on? Oh the horror. Over the weekend new figures revealed that Ireland’s survival rate for breast cancer stands at only 69.9 per cent - one of the worst in the civilised world. Yet our charities are more interested in not looking bad, than actually taking money to help their research. Talk about a serious boob on all their parts.
