Hollywood actor James Cromwell, who spent a month in Galway last year with Druid, is recovering in Los Angeles after he fell from his bike in a canyon last weekend.
The 68-year-old, best known for playing the farmer in Babe, starred in Druid’s production of A Long Day’s Journey Into Night and spent two months in Galway rehearsing for the part last year.
Mr Cromwell is a serious cyclist who was training in a Los Angeles-area canyon road on Sunday when he fell from the bike.
He suffered a smashed collarbone and a partially deflated lung in the accident. He was rushed to hospital but was released after one day.
His publicist said that he is set to make a full recovery and will be soon back at work on a new TV drama My Own Worst Enemy.
Mr Cromwell is currently in Irish screens playing the first President George Bush in the movie W.
