The Swell Season - Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova - have announced they will play The Town Hall Theatre on Sunday November 30 as part of their upcoming Irish tour.
The duo charmed audiences across the world by their appearance in the independent film Once and their song ‘Falling Slowly’ received the Oscar for Best Original Song at the 2008 Academy Awards.
Hansard is best known as the leader of long serving Irish band The Frames but The Swell Season is a musical project he has been working on since 2005. That year he and Marketa recorded an album together in Prague with Marja Tuhkanen (violin ) and Bertrand Galen (cello ). The album was well received and partly inspired John Carney to make the film Once.
