Well done Brian

Clonmore GFC would like to congratulate Brian Fagan on his match winning contribution of 1-1 for the Carlow Masters (Over 40 ) team in their one point win over Dublin on Saturday last (2-7 to 1-9 ).

Brian’s opportunist last minute goal, when he raced in to punch a high ball to the net, ensured victory for Carlow against their more fancied opponents. This puts Carlow into the All-Ireland quarter-final.

Lining up alongside Carlow legends such as Johnny Nevin, Willie Quinlan and Paddy Quirke against famous Dubs such as John O’Leary, Joe McNally and Mick Deegan, Brian certainly did not look out of place and was one of the fittest men on the field.

Of course Brian is well used to rubbing shoulders with legends - sure didn’t himself, Thomas “Rookie” Doyle and Eddie Coughlan make up one of the most lethal full forward lines ever seen in Carlow football when Clonmore won the Intermediate Championship in 1994.

Between them they scored a total of 2-7 as Clonmore beat Old Leighlin by 2-12 to 0-8 in the final.
