Despite having his car booked in for an NCT, a motorist was fined €200 for having no NCT certificate.
Garda Fiona Ruth told Judge William Harnett at Wednesday’s sitting of Carlow District Court that she stopped Conor Dillon at Ballybar on July 18, 2008 at 8.20pm.
She asked him for his NCT certificate which he did not have. Mr Dillon told the court that four days previous to being stopped, he had booked his car in for NCT but an appointment had not been given to him until over a week later.
“That is certainly a mitigating circumstance,” said Judge Harnett fining Mr Dillon €200.
