A monster auction will take place this Sunday at the Presentation De La Salle College in Bagenalstown commencing at 2pm.
This is an ideal opportunity for early Christmas gift shopping and buyers can avoid the hassle of packed shops and busy streets.
Gifts on offer include electrical goods, vouchers, Christmas cakes and puddings, toys, cosmetics and household accoutrements.
The big event of the day will be the auction of a signed Kilkenny hurl which is expected to raise a substantial sum.
The new principal of the school is holding the auction as a massive fundraiser for a school improvement scheme which he is anxious to get under way.
A catalogue will be available on admission and a fee of €5 will be charged on entry. Viewing of the auction goods takes place from 1.30pm while the auction will get under way at 2pm.
All are welcome to attend the event which is taking place at the school in Bagenalstown. Tea and coffee will also be available. Anyone with donations of gifts for auction can contact the school or any member of the parents’ council who are organising the event.
