Halloween night proved to be terrifying ordeal for a family at Ashfied Crescent in Bagenalstown.
The Kane family awoke to see dangerous flames outside their home on October 31 last.
Louise Kane, who was six-months pregnant was forced to flee her home with her husband and two children when thugs set rubbish alight outside their house in Bagenalstown.
A lack of an adequate roadway to the development hampered emergency services on the night, but luckily nobody was injured in the incident.
Two wheelie bins were set alight outside the couple’s home and the rising flames engulfed one side of the house licking at the insulation and timber frame before causing an aerosol can to explode thus waking the family.
Louise and her husband were fortunately able to escape that night, but the council is already looking into proper access to the estate and gardaí are investigating the incident.
