Carlow town was shocked and saddened to hear of the death of popular insurance salesman John Fingleton last weekend.
John, who was buried yesterday (Wednesday ) in St Michael's Cemetery, Athy was remembered fondly by Graiguecullen locals during his Mass in St Clare’s Church Tuesday night.
The popular Eagle Star salesman, who was in his sixties and lived in Oakley Park in Graiguecullen, died unexpectedly at Portlaoise Hospital on Saturday.
He leaves behind him his wife Caroline, daughter Elke, son Darren, son-in-law Patrick and grandchildren Aaron and Nathan.
John, who hailed from Athy, was a familiar character on the Carlow social scene and always had a smile for the locals.
