For the second year in a row, Clonmore will contest the intermediate football championship final after they overcame the Fighting Cocks by 2-5 to 0-10 in an epic battle on Saturday last in Dr Cullen Park.
The final against Kilbride will be played on Sunday, October 12, at 3.30pm in Dr Cullen Park.
The panel who played against the Fighting Cocks were: Paudge McGrath, Wesley Byrne, Colin Doyle, John Kelly, Bobby Rooney, John Connolly (Captain ), Pauric Lawlor (0-1 ), Peter Kiernan, Johnny Doyle, Con Murphy (1-1 ), Ronan Doyle (0-1 ), Paul Byrne, Willie Rooney, John McGrath (1-0 ), Gavin Byrne (0-2 ). Subs used: Jamie Doyle, Enda McGrath, Paddy Gahan. Other subs: Stephen Byrne, Con Cashin, Ger Doyle, Dara Conway, Damien Lyons, Shane Murphy, Pierce McCarthy.

Bobby flies the flag in Chad
Clonmore GFC would like to send good wishes to Bobby Rooney who departed earlier in the week for a tour of duty with the Irish peace-keeping mission in Chad, Africa. Bobby has been an integral member of the Clonmore intermediate panel for a number of years and played in every game in this year’s championship and will be a big loss to the panel on Sunday.
