Bealin quits and looks to vacancy in Dublin

Paul Bealin has put his name forward for the vacant Dublin football job after quitting as Carlow manager on Monday night after just one year.

Bealin has cited immediate work commitments as the main reason for his departure, but conceded there were other issues in the background.

He is now free to talk to Dublin officials.

Bealin, who was Wexford manager in 2006 and 2007, had mixed success with Carlow during his nine-month management.

Carlow will now search for their sixth manager in just over four years, following on from Mick Condon, Luke Dempsey, Liam Hayes and John Kearns.
