Bagenalstown assault victim rushed to hospital

A late-night assault in Bagenalstown has gardaí seeking the public’s assistance.

A young man was set upon and stabbed in Father Cummins’ Park last Saturday, September 13.

Gardaí said the man had to be brought to St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny for emergency surgery, but his condition was not life-threatening.

The incident, which happened late on Friday night into Saturday morning at around 3.30am, is being investigated by Bagenalstown Gardaí.

Anyone who was in the estate or nearby on the night is asked to try and recall their movements in case they noticed anything that might be helpful to investigators. Bagenalstown Gardaí can be contacted at (059 ) 9721689.
