A local councillor has asked the town council to take an urgent look at a dangerous situation on Mill Lane, where the entrance to a public house opens directly onto a public road.
Cllr Walter Lacey told town engineer Kieran Cullinane that the publican’s premises opened directly onto the road with no footpath to act as a buffer zone between patrons and the traffic.
“It is dangerous whether you are sober or not. I don’t know what the answer is but something needs to be done,” he said.
Mr Cullinane said he was unaware of the situation but said he would investigate further.
