Blushing brides need blush no more over the price that they pay for their wedding dresses, as a new charity shop has rolled into town
offering brides-to-be big designs for small prices!
Barnardos Bridal Room and Boutique opened its doors last week in Carlow Town with its distinctive style of ‘budget chic’.
The gala opening was attended by TV3’s glamorous news anchor, Elaine Crowley, and one of Xposé’s star presenters, Sybil Mulcahy.
Fergus Finlay, Barnardos CEO told the crowd that he was delighted when his daughter announced that she had purchased the dress of her dreams for her big day in the charity’s branch in Dunlaoghaire, for just €250! It’s a far cry from the figures that had been bandied about.
The new store, which is located on 45 Dublin Street, houses a range of brand new goods, donated by wholesalers and retailers, as well as top quality once loved treasures. But what makes this a real draw on the Carlow shopping landscape is the Bridal Room which will stock brand new bridal gowns and accessories, retailing at just a fraction of their high street cost.
This is not Barnardos’ first venture into the bridal market. Barnardos Bridal Boutique in Dun Laoghaire in Dublin has been a phenomenal success.
Speaking at the launch, TV3’s Elaine Crowley complimented Barnardos on the range of gowns and styles on offer. She said, “Barnardos’ new store in Carlow should be on every bride-to-be’s must see list. It’s the perfect combination of beautiful dresses at dreamy prices.”
The money raised in the store goes directly to supporting Barnardos’ services in communities across Ireland.”
Celebrating the opening of its new store, Barnardos launched an exciting bridal competition offering brides-to-be the chance to win their dream wedding dress. The competition invites entrants to tell the story of their most romantic moment – in 300 words or less. Application forms are available in the store and the closing date is 30th September 2008.
