Leading Irish charity, Team Hope, is looking to source a temporary space in Athlone to help check the thousands of Christmas shoeboxes which will be donated by the people of the town and surrounding MIdlands region for 2022.
The popular Shoebox Appeal involves schools, communities and businesses donating gift-filled shoeboxes to children affected by poverty in Eastern Europe and Africa. A local checking centre space is vital to help ensure the Christmas shoeboxes that are donated for children in Africa and Eastern Europe are safe and suitable.
Team Hope are looking for a temporary space with the following criteria:
· A ground floor space
· Approximately 2,000+ square feet
· Accessible by a heavy good vehicle
·Available for three weeks in November 2022
· Toilet facilities either on site or nearby
· Electrics in working order
“The Christmas Shoebox Appeal is all about communities coming together to build shoeboxes and bring joy to children who need it most. This year, the need is greater than ever,” Team Hope’s National Shoebox Appeal Manager Jonathan Douglas, said.
If you think you have a temporary space that could be utilised by Team Hope’s team of volunteers in Athlone for the duration of the campaign, Team Hope would love to hear from you.
