Foxford Woollen Mills chooses Western Care Association as charity partner

Foxford Woollen Mills has announced that its chosen charity partner for the coming year is Western Care Association.

Visitors to the popular visitor centre, store and café in Foxford, will have the opportunity to support the charity in a number of different ways while they visit the mill. One such initiative will see Foxford Woollen Mills donate €2 from each guided tour of the Mill during the year to the charity.

Teresa Ward, Western Care Association’s Development Officer, is thrilled with the news saying: "We are delighted that Foxford Woollen Mills has chosen Western Care Association as their charity partner. This brilliant opportunity will commence from this month and continue until September next year and we are delighted to be associated with such a high-end brand steeped in Irish history."

Western Care Association was set up to empower people with a wide range of learning and associated disabilities in Mayo to live full and satisfied lives as equal citizens. The organisation has a Service Level Agreement with the Health Service Executive on whose behalf it provides supports and services to people with intellectual disabilities in Co Mayo.

With over 900 employees and more than twice that amount of volunteers, the association is heavily dependent on fundraising. Western Care Association wouldn’t continue to run as effectively or as efficiently as it does without the support of the wider community. There are many ways for people to lend their support to the organisation. To find out more contact Teresa Ward, Fundraising and Development Manager, Western Care Association (087 ) 2467857.
