Louise Duffy announced as headline judge for Ladies Day

The luxurious g Hotel & Spa Galway, proud sponsors of this year’s Best Dressed Lady and Best Hat competitions on Ladies Day at the Galway Races Thursday July 28 have teamed up with popular Irish radio broadcaster and fashionista Louise Duffy as their headline judge for the hugely popular day. Known for her love and passion for fashion, Mayo-native Louise will be joined at the racecourse in the judging process for this highly sought after title by Triona Barrett (General Manager of the g Hotel & Spa ), Bairbre Power (Fashion Editor with the Irish Independent ) and Melanie Morris (Editor-in-Chief/Beauty Director at IMAGE Publications ).

Commenting on Ladies Day Louise said, “I’ve always loved Ladies Day at the Galway Races. Every year I’m blown away by the style and elegance that ladies bring to the racecourse, so I’m extremely excited to be involved with the g Hotel in such a glamorous occasion this year. I have an endless love for fashion, so I can’t think of a better way to spend a day than ogling beautiful outfits. It makes perfect sense that a hotel as stylish as the g is involved, it’s always my favourite place to stay in Galway, and so I’m looking forward to a night of fun at the après racing party too!”

Getting under way after racing at Ballybrit on Ladies Day is the Après Racing Party in the g Hotel. Synonymous with style and elegance, Ladies Day at the g is the most glamorous night of the year and one you won’t want to miss out on.

The g Hotel will be filled with the most sensational style. The ladies this year will be competing in the annual ‘Best Hat Competition’ for a breath-taking bespoke hat by Philip Treacy, a piece worth over €2,000. Following on from its huge success last year, the g will be rewarding the Most Stylish Man on the night with a €1,000 Strellson suit kindly sponsored by Hanleys.ie Galway.

Judging is from 9.30pm – 10.30pm on the night. Louise Duffy will also be MC for the event and will be joined by Melanie Morris from IMAGE Publications and Galway hurler David Collins representing Hanleys.ie Live music on the night with the lively Good Hustle Big Band.
