Fantasy Football round seven preview

Round six of the Premier League is done and dusted and I think it is fair to say that no one would have predicted Everton, Aston Villa, and Leeds being in the top six and Man City and Man United in the bottom seven at this stage of the season but this is the unpredictable beauty that is football.

While the viewer will have enjoyed all the twists and turns so far, Fantasy managers will be tearing their hair as their sure bet selections fail to do the business and get them moving in the right direction in the Advertiser Tribal League.

Let's have a look at the managers who are handling the pressure the best.

Top three

Brian Murphy - Brian Munich - 457

'The Brivarians' have maintained their grip on top spot with another efficient display, garnering 61 points. The attackers are the men doing the business for manager Brian Murphy with Heung-Min Son (11 ) and Wilfred Zaha (13 ) scoring with Danny Ings, Callum Wilson, and Harry Kane providing assists. Like every side in the league, keeping the ball out of the net is a problem. Murphy's three defenders, Joe Gomez, Conor Coady, and Tyrick Mitchell, and goalkeeper Matt Ryan failed to keep a clean sheet. Tighten up at the back and Brian Munich could see their ribbons on the league trophy at the end of the season.

Glen Shearer - ShearClass - 438

ShearClass in name and ShearClass by nature, Glen Shearer's men had a stormer of a weekend securing 73 points. Defence wins titles and in round 6 ShearClass's last line brought 23 points with four clean sheets. And while the defence was stifling, the attack was free-flowing, Patrick Bamford, Heung-Min Son, Danny Ings, and Harry Kane combing with four goals and three assists. Sitting only 19 points behind the league leaders, if Shearer can maintain his side's momentum the ShearClass could be real challengers for the title.

Anthony Davitt - Pique Blinders - 436

A place and two points further back is Anthony Davitt and his Blinders with 436 points. It was a solid weekend for The Blinders as they brought 59 points thanks to impressive performances by Patrick Bamford (17 ), Heung-Min Son (11 ), and captain Harry Kane (10 ). For Davitt he will hope goals will come from more sources because if Bamford and Son get suspended or become injured, then Pique Blinders could be in trouble.

Top picks

Heung-Min Son (Spurs - £9.3 million ) v Brighton

The Korean is the form player in the league with eight goals and two assists in his last five league appearances for the north Londoners. On Saturday night, Spurs host Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Seagulls who have conceded 12 goals in six games, have only kept one clean sheet this season and I fear Graham Potter's men will not be able to handle the red hot Son. Spurs to win 3-0 with Son to grab a brace.

Raúl Jiménez (Wolves - £8.5 million ) v Crystal Palace

The Mexican striker has struck two goals and provided two assists in his last three outings for Wolves including the winners against Fulham and Leeds. On Friday evening, Wolves invite Crystal Palace to the Black Country to kick off round seven. This match will be evenly contested with the visitors a place above Nuno Esipírto Santo's courtesy of a better goal difference. Both sides based their game around being tight at the back so do not expect an affair full of goals. One strike will decide this clash and I believe that will come from Wolves' number nine. Get him in your team.

Che Adams (Southampton - £5.8 million ) v Aston Villa

With two goals and two assists in his last four matches, Che Adams is proving to a valuable addition to any Fantasy side. On Sunday, The Saints make the long journey up to England's second city to take on the surprise package of the campaign to date, Aston Villa. The Villains sit in third place with 12 points from a possible 15. I think there will be goals in this match so I'm going for a 2-2 draw with Adams to continue his scoring form.
