See the Mirror Pavilion in Galway and Connemara

GIAF 2020 centrepiece exhibit to go on display in September and October

MIRROR PAVILION, by the artist John Gerrard, the centrepiece of Galway International Arts Festival’s Autumn Edition programme, will be unveiled next month.

Mirror Pavilion, commissioned by the GIAF for Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture, will be on display in Galway city and Connemara during September and October.

The Pavilion is a four sided structure. Three sides and the roof are clad in a highly reflective mirror, while the fourth wall is a high–resolution LED wall. The structure will host two new artworks - Corn Work and Leaf Work which will unfold on the LED screen presented in the two locations.

Corn Work can be seen at the Claddagh Quay, Galway from September 3 to 26, while Leaf Work will be on display at the 4,000–year–old Derrigimlagh Bog in Connemara from October 11 to 31. The works reflect and respond to the landscape of both locations.
