Future technology at Medical Technology Ireland 2019

Medical Technology Ireland 2019 takes place at the Galway Racecourse on September 25/26 featuring some 200 exhibitors across three floors in a two-day conference programme.

Featuring the hottest topics on the future of medical technology, it will also boast a women in medtech forum, a start-up and innovation academy, and breakfast briefings on each day.

Conference programme

The opening address will be presented by the president of Galway Chamber, Dave Hickey, and speakers will include Dave Veerasingam FRCSI (CTh ), consultant cardiothoracic surgeon of University Hospital Galway, who will present advances in computerised non invasive diagnosis for the cardiovascular industry; Ronan Benson, senior industrial designer of Synecco, discussing utilising IEC 62366 usability engineering standard to understand and optimise how users interact with medical devices; and Ben Davison from Precipart on prototype to production with metal 3D printing - reducing development time and costs.

Other sessions include the changing EU regulatory landscape, R & D tax credits, practical approaches to innovation in pre-market studies, the race for a qualified healthcare additive manufacturing solution, and much more.

Women in medtech forum

The hugely successful women in medtech forum will be chaired by Fiona Neary, commercial director of BioExel and innovation operations manager at NUI Galway, and will feature a stellar line-up of speakers.

Start-up and innovation academy

In partnership with Medical Technology Ireland, a number of key support organisations in the region will bring together some of the best investment-ready start-ups which are medtech related, to pitch to potential business angels and investors.
