Orla McAlinden to read at Over The Edge

Armagh writer to be joined by Rory Duffy and Mona Jakob in Galway City Library

ORLA MCALINDEN, the multi-award-winning author, vet, farmer, teacher, and mother, will read at the next Over The Edge: Open Reading in the Galway City Library on Thursday May 30 at 6.30pm.

The Armagh born author is the writer of short-story collections Full Of Grace and The Accidental Wife, and the novel The Flight of The Wren. She is the winner of the Bord Gais Energy Irish Book Awards Short Story of the Year.

Also reading is Rory Duffy, whose fiction has been published in Crannóg, The Stony Thursday Book, Southword, and Penduline Press. He came third in the PJ O'Connor Awards and was short listed for the Frances MacManus Award; and Mona Jakob, who is working on a novel. There will as usual be an open-mic after the featured readers. New readers are welcome.

The details of this year’s Over The Edge New Writer of The Year competition will also be announced. The MC will be Susan Millar DuMars. Admission is free and all are welcome.
