Although group one leaders Kilkenny are unbeaten, Cathal Murray's charges have now edged ahead of Limerick on points difference (21 v 7) into second spot with their eyes still very much on booking a place in the Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship's quarter-finals.

Galway football supporters have plenty of action to savour this weekend, including the ladies' Connacht final replay.
First up was the U20 side managed by Padraic Joyce and captained by Claregalway’s Conor Campbell. They were due to face Shane Curran’s Roscommon in Kiltoom last evening, before the minor team host Mayo in the Connacht final in Tuam Stadium on Friday (7.30pm). Finally on Saturday the senior ladies will play Mayo in their Connacht final replay in the Gaelic Grounds at 4pm as the curtain raiser to the men’s game against Mayo which is at 7pm.

A disastrous second half from Galway in line with a spirited Roscommon fightback sends Galway to the qualifiers once again. Five unanswered points at the end of the first half had Galway leading 0-10 to 0-5 at the break. Quite similar to Roscommon’s position half way through last year's final and just like last year the home side lost out to a hungrier dog on the day.

Galway will hope to continue their recent dominance over Mayo at all levels when they face each other in McHale Park this Sunday afternoon at 4pm.
With just the two teams in the Connacht senior championship, the first round every year is the Connacht final. Galway will be hopeful that they can claim their seventh title in eight years. Timmy Rabbitte's teams early season performances would suggest that it is a strong possibility.

Padraic Joyce’s Galway U20 side followed up their comprehensive victory over Kildare with a closely fought 1-11 to 0-12 win over a very physically strong Cork side.
The game was nip and tuck throughout with Cork having the better of the opening exchanges. Cork seemed to adapt better to the tricky cross wind in Claughan which caught out players on numerous occasions. Joyce, however, will be very pleased with how his side dug in with sheer graft to get on top of their Munster opponents.

Padraic Joyce and his Galway u20 team began their season with a comfortable 1-18 to 0-10 point victory over Kildare in their opening game of the John Kerins cup which was held in Pearse Park, Longford.
Galway are sure to face stiffer competition in their group in what is the first year of this league. Next Saturday at 1.30pm in Kilmallock they face a Cork side who have drawn their first two games of the group in two entertaining battles against Kerry and Dublin respectively.
